Millions of Americans suffer with migraines every year, with women experiencing them twice as often as men. Migraines are severe, throbbing headaches that can last hours or even days. The pain is frequently located on one side of the front of the head and can be triggered by many factors including diet, stress, sleep deprivation, weather and a multitude of other factors. Symptoms may include headache that feels like it is throbbing, pain that interferes with daily activities, extreme sensitivity to noise, light and odors, nausea and vomiting, and aura (sensory warning signs such as flashes of light, blind spots, or tingling in arms or legs). If you suffer with migraines, you may be eligible to participate in one of our research studies of an investigational medication for the treatment of migraines.
